We are about halfway through the design phase of our S Henderson St School Safety Project. Changes to S Henderson St will make it safer to walk, bike, and ride a scooter on S Henderson St between Martin Luther King Jr Way S and Seward Park Ave S. We are:

* Making it safer for people walking, biking, riding scooters, and rolling to cross the street
* Installing art, in collaboration with Rainier Beach Action Coalition [ https://www.rbcoalition.org/?utm_medium=email&utm_source=govdelivery ]
* Changing the existing bike lanes to make safer, protected bike lanes to connect people to the light rail, schools, community center, Lake Washington, and bike paths like Chief Sealth Trail
* Changing the design of the street so it’s easier to drive 20 mph on a street frequently used by children and youth

We want to hear from you! We’re sponsoring the *Harvest Fest Takeover Boo Bash* [ https://champsseattle.org/pages/rainier-beach-boo-bash?utm_medium=email&utm_source=govdelivery ] this Sunday, October 27 from 2 PM – 5 PM at the Rainier Beach Community Center (8825 Rainier Ave S).
