Night work at E Marginal Way S & S Alaska St on Thurs., Dec. 5

[ https://www.seattle.gov/images/Departments/SDOT/FreightProgram/East%20Marginal%20Way%20S/Alaska%20Closure.png?utm_medium=email&utm_source=govdelivery ]On Thursday, Dec. 5, we will conduct night work at E Marginal Way S and S Alaska St to prepare for installation of the new dynamic messaging sign. This work will include drilling to install the pole foundation. To safely complete this work, crews will close S Alaska St at E Marginal Way S and 3 lanes on E Marginal Way S at S Alaska St. Crews will shift northbound traffic into the center turning lane for the duration of this work.

What to expect


* Closure of S Alaska St at E Marginal Way S and 3 northbound lanes of E Marginal Way S at S Alaska St beginning at 7 PM on Thursday, Dec. 5 and ending at approximately 5:30 AM on Friday, Dec. 6
* Starting at 5:30 AM on Friday, Dec. 6, we may continue to work on the foundation with a reduced two-lane traffic closure
* Northbound traffic will use the center turning lane for the duration of this work until Friday morning at 5:30 AM
* Parking restrictions at S Alaska St at E Marginal Way S for up to two days, starting on Thursday, Dec. 5
* Construction noise, dust, and vibrations from trucks and equipment used for drilling
