Georgetown Healthy Street Update

We’re excited to share an update for the Georgetown Healthy Street! As soon as this weekend, we will be installing traffic-calming speed humps on Carleton Ave S, Flora Ave S, S Willow St, and S Eddy St. This map shows the locations of the new speed humps.

We will be adding the other elements of the permanent Healthy Street later this year, including additional pavement markings and wayfinding signs.

*What are speed humps?* Speed humps are raised sections of the street that encourage people driving to slow down. We build speed humps to make streets safer for everyone.

This is what it looks like when we build speed humps

*What can people expect when we build speed humps?* We'll install the speed humps during the day, usually between 7 AM - 5 PM. We start by placing down asphalt and installing temporary markings on the speed humps. We will return in about 2 weeks to install the permanent markings. This schedule may change based on weather.

During this work, neighbors can expect:


* Noise, vibrations, dust and smells when construction equipment is used and after the asphalt is placed
* Construction equipment in the work area
* “No parking” areas
* Partial street closures
