*Admiral Way North and South Bridges Seismic Project Updates*

January 30, 2025

Construction crews are making the Admiral Way North and South Bridges stronger to better withstand earthquakes. Work includes installing reinforcing bars, pouring concrete, and repairing cracks on the bridge’s piers and deck. Crews are also wrapping parts of the bridge with carbon fiber for extra strength.

Over the next few weeks, crews will remove most of the traffic control measures along Admiral Way. However, there may still be occasional lane closures to give crews room to work. At least one eastbound lane and one westbound lane will stay open for people driving. People walking, biking, and using mobility devices can use the sidewalk on the north bridge to cross.

*Fairmount Ave SW Closure Reminder*

Fairmount Ave SW under the bridge* is closed* to people walking, biking, rolling, and driving during construction. This closure keeps everyone safe and helps our crews work efficiently.

We expect construction to last about 10 months, but the schedule may change based on weather, crew availability, and materials.

We know this closure affects many people, and we’ll do our best to mitigate impacts. Thank you for your patience.

*What to expect during construction*

In addition to the full closure of Fairmount Ave N under the bridge and ongoing lane closures you can expect:

* Work in the public right-of-way near your home or business.
* Temporary on-street parking restrictions, with "no park" signs placed 72 hours in advance.
* Staged construction equipment and materials as well as noise, dust, and vibrations in the work area.
* Typical weekday work hours of 7 AM – 5 PM, Monday through Friday.

Thank you for your interest in the Admiral Way North and South Bridge Seismic project and for your patience during construction.

Sincerely,
