With the adoption of the Comprehensive Plan, the City of Bellevue has started work on updating city codes to accommodate and encourage middle housing in the city. What is middle housing? It is a term that refers to the range of housing types that fall between single family and midrise scale multifamily buildings, both in the structure type and the number of units per structure. This includes duplexes, triplexes, fourplexes, fiveplexes, and sixplexes, as well as cottages, courtyard buildings, and townhomes. This work builds on the extensive public outreach conducted during the Comprehensive Plan update process on middle housing and advances many of the city's housing and land use goals and policies.

 The community is invited to attend public information sessions on Dec. 5 and 9.
