Positions in this classification respond to people in crisis with mental health, substance use, behavioral, housing, financial and other social service needs. Duties include considerable public contact and bridge the gap between emergency medical response, law enforcement and the social needs of people within this population. Position directly contacts or accompanies emergency medical responders or law enforcement on patrol to assist individuals belonging to the target population in accessing mental health, substance use, homeless or other social services. Position may work directly with Master of Social Work (MSW) graduate students who provide case management to clients within the Bellevue Fire CARES program.

This position may oversee a caseload, and coordinate case management responsibilities.
*Distinguishing Characteristics:* This is the first level within the Crisis Response Program Social Worker classification series. This position performs the professional level duties assigned.
