Introducing Kenmore's New Local Business Directory FindKenmore.org 

"*Make sure your business is listed for free promotion!*"

FindKenmore.org [ http://www.findkenmore.org/ ] is a brand new, easily searchable business directory and community calendar. Any business registered in Kenmore is eligible for a free listing in the directory.

The City of Kenmore partnered with the Kenmore Business Alliance [ https://bothellkenmorechamber.org/our-chamber/committees/kenmore-business-alliance/ ] to update the design and look of the business directory. The new directory will be heavily promoted over the next year and the City wants to make sure all businesses are represented. 

Local businesses that have registered for a Kenmore City Business License, (sometimes called a Kenmore Endorsement), are encouraged to request an account to manage an existing listing or submit a new listing for a business [ https://www.findkenmore.org/business-login/ ] not already in the Directory. There is an option to submit your community event as well. "*Help us help customers find you!*"

The Small Business Investment Grant [ https://www.seakingwdc.org/funding-blog/small-business-investment-grant ], funded by the Washington State Department of Commerce’s Community Reinvestment Project, aims to promote equity for businesses in Seattle-King County, with a focus on those 51% or more owned and operated by individuals from Black, urban Indian/Tribal, and Latine communities.

Funds from the grants can be used for a variety of purposes, including capacity building and growth, sustainability efforts (environmental, financial, and social impact), hiring (especially to enhance workforce diversity), retention, and staff training. The overarching goal is to ensure that historically marginalized communities gain equitable access to resources, thereby promoting broader community development and economic resilience.

Kenmore City Business License Reminder

Generally, any business operating in, or engaging in business within the City of Kenmore limits is required to obtain a business license. Businesses may obtain a business license registration at no fee if the business reports to the state an annual business income, earned in Kenmore, of $12,000 or less.

To register for a Kenmore business license, go to the Department of Revenue’s Business Licensing (DOR) website [ https://dor.wa.gov/open-business/apply-business-license ] and complete an application form for a city endorsement. For assistance, call the DOR at 1-800-647-7706.

City Council meetings are typically held at 7 p.m. the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Mondays of each month on-site at Kenmore City Hall and streamed virtually (when available) through Zoom and YouTube livestream [ https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC5M2Jyz38UIea_Q-RKXE0og ]. City Council meetings are open to the public and public comments are encouraged.

The KBA is great opportunity to network and grow your own business, and it's free (no membership required). Meetings are held monthly on the first Thursday from 8:30am - 10am at Kenmore City Hall.
