Alaskan Way Safety Project

*Please be aware that parking is temporarily restricted 24/7 on both sides of Alaskan Way between Broad St and Lenora St. Restrictions are set to be in place through construction and may be removed in some locations as activities are completed. *

Over the next few weeks, you'll see the following construction activities in the project area: 

*Lenora St to Blanchard St* 


* Excavation for electrical conduit installation at street corners at Blanchard St 

* Constructing concrete sidewalks and curb ramps at the intersection of Blanchard St  

*Blanchard St to Bell St * 


* Paving new roadway panels on east side of Alaskan Way 

* Bollard installation on west side of Alaskan Way 

*Bell St to Wall St* 


* Demolition and restoration of street corners and roadway to install electrical conduits
* Constructing concrete roadway panels, sidewalks, and ADA curb ramps

*What to expect during construction* Typical work hours are Monday – Friday, from 7 AM to 5 PM. During this time you can expect:  


* Temporary traffic revisions to accommodate construction activities 

* Temporary parking restrictions near work zones 

* Noisy construction activities, such as backup alarms for safety, heavy vehicle and truck use, and the use of large equipment 

* Steel plates in the roadway 

* Please note that much of this work is weather-dependent and subject to schedule changes
