The Transportation Department Right of Way Management division is looking for a Right of Way Permit Review Specialist to join our team of highly experienced professionals. The city of Bellevue is recognized for its continued growth as a regional hub, while providing safe and efficient transportation systems. We are excited to provide this opportunity for an enthusiastic candidate to join our team.

 This position involves reviewing plans associated with various uses of the public right of way, as well as the associated temporary traffic control plans (TCP’s). The successful candidate will effectively use collaboration skills and teamwork toward implementing successful outcomes in review of plans for proposed uses of the public right of way, ranging from franchise utility work (gas, power, fiber, etc.) to sidewalk cafes. All aspects of review are intended to ensure safety and maintenance of traffic, as well as accessibility for pedestrians and cyclists. The scope of work includes evaluating construction of new infrastructure or modifications to existing, franchise and/or other public/private system work, and maintenance activities all within the City’s rights of way.
 
This position will also respond to customer concerns and requests, while ensuring compliance with codes, regulations, standards, and criteria applicable to maintaining the integrity of improvements and facilities within the City’s right of way. This includes helping staff the city’s Permit Center to answer questions in person regarding proposed uses of the right of way.
 
Lastly, the ROW Permit Review Specialist will review temporary traffic control plans for compliance with MUTCD requirements to ensure the safe and efficient maintenance of traffic during construction. body { font-size: 1em; font-family: Arial, Verdana, sans-serif; font-weight: normal; font-style: normal; color: #333333; }
