The Permit Processing Technician performs a variety of technical and specialized duties in support of the City’s electronic building, land use, utility, fire, and transportation permitting processes. Work requires initiative, independent judgement, and the ability to build an extensive working knowledge of the Development Services line of business and programs. This job serves as the link between Development Services permitting functions and the public; provides detailed information and guidance to internal and external clients; and maintains the integrity of the permit tracking database as the last audit point before permits are issued. This position includes exposure to complex regulations, standards, methodologies, and substantive issues, with the need for significant problem solving. The Permit Processing Technician has the opportunity to interpret and adapt existing procedures to unusual situations and influences the adoption of improved policies and procedures.
