Oktoberfest Coming to Kenmore! [ https://www.findkenmore.org/oktoberfest/ ]
Oktoberfest is coming to Kenmore this September 19 - 22 and will host a variety of activities and all ages fun around downtown Kenmore and at Saint Edward State Park. The event is being advertised widely outside of Kenmore with support from a Port of Seattle Economic Development grant, in hopes of bringing shoppers and visitors to Kenmore for a weekend of revelry and exploration.
Back in January, Suzanne Greathouse, Derek Wyckoff, and Jason Parker, all members of the Kenmore Business Alliance, started talking about a Kenmore Oktoberfest focused on Brew Row. When they discovered that the City of Kirkland had canceled their annual Oktoberfest for 2024, the team reached out to the Bavarian Beer Garden Band and the Kirkland Oktoberfest Masters of Ceremony (MCs), who, as it turned out, were all available and willing to help.
A core group of business owners and community organizations have come together as the planning committee for the event, including Copperworks Distilling, 192 Brewing, Kenmore Heritage Society, WhatsSup Stand Up Paddle Board and Kayak, the City of Kenmore, and Katie Miller Marketing. As word spread, more businesses such as the Lodge at Saint Edward Park, Snapdoodle Toys, Stoup Brewing, PostDoc Brewing, and more have joined in planning a unique and collaborative event.
The goals of the organizers are to support local businesses, celebrate Kenmore, provide a fun event for community members of all ages, and attract visitors to this amazing community. The group hopes to grow the event each year, expanding activities and involving more community businesses and organizations.
