**Kenmore Love Notes: *Love is in the Air this Valentine's Day!
*In Kenmore, a Love Note is more than a letter on paper. A  Love Note is a simple act or gesture by an individual or group (i.e., co-creators) that engages the community and creates fun, beauty, or a collective sense of community and place. Love Notes can be seen all over Kenmore, if you just take a look around. *

* Today, Lake City Partners held a Valentine’s Day Opening Ceremony for the Kenmore Senior Women’s Shelter [ https://lakecitypartners.org/kenmore-senior-womens-shelter/ ]. The event was held to thank the wonderful people and organizations who have come together to so lovingly ready this beautiful and thoughtful shelter dedicated to homeless senior women.
* Last Saturday, 50 community members (including Mayor Herbig) attended the Thoughtful Citizens [ https://www.facebook.com/ThoughtfulCitizensWA/ ] Sentiments for Seniors valentine card making event at the Hangar. "302 valentine cards were made and delivered to local seniors!"

*80th Avenue NE Pedestrian and Bicycle Improvement Project Online Open House
*Planning is underway for the 80th Avenue Pedestrian and Bicycle Improvement Project, which aims to improve pedestrian and bicycle facilities in the 80th Avenue NE corridor. This project will also provide traffic calming to accommodate a reduced speed limit of 30 MPH, provide safe pedestrian crossings across 80th Avenue NE at existing school bus stops, enhance corridor street lighting, and improve bicycle access to the Burke Gilman Trail. The goal is to begin project construction in the summer of 2026.
