Georgetown Healthy Street Update

We’re making progress building the permanent features of the Georgetown Healthy Street! We recently finished building 12 new speed humps. These speed humps have temporary markings. We will return to install the permanent markings in about 2 weeks.

As soon as next week, we’ll start installing painted curb bulbs at the intersections on the Healthy Streets. Later, we’ll return to install the other Healthy Street intersection features including flexible posts, signs, and concrete planters. The schedule to complete this work is based on weather and worker availability.

*What you can expect during construction*

We expect to work during the day, typically between 7 AM - 5 PM. We need warm, dry weather to apply the pavement markings for the new painted curb bulbs. You can expect to see temporary markings identifying the spots where we will put the other permanent features such as planters and flexible posts. We will return at a later date to install these remaining intersection features.

During this work, there will be:

* Noise, vibrations, dust and smells when construction equipment is used and after the pavement markings are applied
* Construction equipment in the work area
* “No parking” signs
* Partial street closures
