Seattle Department of Transportation logo

Hi Neighbors,

We’re excited to announce that we have reach final design for the NE 130th St & NE 125th St Mobility and Safety Project [ https://www.seattle.gov/transportation/projects-and-programs/programs/transportation-planning/ne-130th-and-125th-mobility-and-safety-project?utm_medium=email&utm_source=govdelivery ]! We appreciate everyone who met with us, joined our open houses and tabling events, and gave feedback about the project. These improvements will make it safer and easier to get to the NE 130th St Infill Station [ https://www.soundtransit.org/system-expansion/ne-130th-st-infill-station?utm_medium=email&utm_source=govdelivery ] and around your neighborhood by walking, biking, rolling, or taking the bus. Read below for information on the final project design and what we heard during outreach.

We have several opportunities for you to meet the project team and learn more about the final project design. I hope you can join us at one of our upcoming events:

* Saturday, Dec. 14 from 10 AM – 12 PM at Safeway (12318 15th Ave NE [ https://maps.app.goo.gl/o1RADnTz93PALkmV6?utm_medium=email&utm_source=govdelivery ])
* Wednesday, December 18 from 5 - 7 PM at the Lake City Library (12501 28th Ave NE [ https://maps.app.goo.gl/mrhzUHGeVD7PXDaU9?utm_medium=email&utm_source=govdelivery ])
* More dates to come for early 2025!

With project design complete, we are preparing for construction to start as soon as mid-2025. We’ll advertise the project for construction contractors in early 2025. Once we have a contractor onboard, we’ll work with the community to prepare for construction.

The NE 130th St & NE 125th St Mobility and Safety Project is one of several projects we are planning to help people get to the NE 130th St Station and improve safety between Bitter Lake and Lake City. Learn more about these projects on our NE 130th St Light Rail Station Access and Safety Improvements website [ https://www.seattle.gov/transportation/projects-and-programs/current-projects/ne-130th-st-light-rail-station-access-and-safety-improvements?utm_medium=email&utm_source=govdelivery ].
