* *Routes 50 and RapidRide C Line* will have stops #33220 SW Alaska Street & Fauntleroy Way SW (Eastbound) and #32364 SW Alaska Street & Fauntleroy Way SW (Westbound) closed from Saturday, February 22 at 7 a.m. until Monday, February 24 at 6 a.m. due to construction;
* *Routes 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 13, 14, 21, 24, 36, 70, 124, 131, 132, and RapidRide D Line* that are traveling southbound on 3rd Avenue will not serve stop #515 at 3rd Avenue S & S Main Street from 7 a.m. on Saturday, February 22 through 8 p.m. on Sunday, February 23 due to construction;
* *RapidRide E Line* will not serve stops south of Yesler Way from 7 a.m. on Saturday, February 22 until 8 p.m. on Sunday, February 23 due to construction;
* *Route 62* will not serve stop #625 S Washington Street & 4th Avenue S from 7 a.m. on Saturday, February 22 until 8 p.m. on Sunday, February 23 due to construction;

Metro to reopen four bus stops Monday, March 3, in Seattle’s Little Saigon neighborhood

Following focused effort to improve community safety in Little Saigon by Seattle and King County law enforcement and social service agencies, King County Metro soon will reopen four bus stops near 12th Avenue South and South Jackson Street.

Routes 1, 7, 9, 14, 36, 60 and 106 will begin serving the four stops on Monday, March 3. Customer notifications will be posted at both the affected and nearby bus stops. We appreciate the patience of riders during the temporarily shift of service to nearby bus stops.

Since the stops closed December 16, Metro has partnered with the King County Sheriff’s Office, Metro Transit Police and the Seattle Police Department to improve public safety and reduce the number of people congregating near the bus stops at 12th and Jackson.

It takes a lot of people to keep a transit system running smoothly across 150 routes and over 300,000 boardings a day.

Bus drivers are the most visible part of any transit system, but there are people behind the scenes who are just as vital in the day-to-day operation of King County Metro.

Their responsibilities include training operators, planning the routes that run throughout the region, and literally being the “traffic controllers” who keep track of the buses on their daily runs.

We’d like to introduce you to the staff that help keep the wheels on the bus going “round and round” every day, Instructors Kevin Friend and Titus Robinson.
