Weekend Service Impacts

* *Routes 7, 14 and 36 *are rerouted off 3rd Avenue, between James Street and S Jackson Street, from Friday, April 4 through Saturday, April 5;
* *Route 62 and RapidRide E Line* will be rerouted off 3rd Avenue S, between Yesler Way and S Main Street, from Saturday, April 5 through Sunday, April 6;
* *Routes 49 and 70* to Downtown Seattle will be routed in the University District from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m, on Saturday, April 5, during the Tenacious Ten Run;
* *Route 36* to Othello Station will be rerouted off of Beacon Avenue S, between S Orcas Street and S Graham Street, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 5;

* Take transit to all your sporting and community events in Seattle. Metro and Link light rail serve riders heading to T-Mobile Park, Husky Stadium, Lumen Field, and Climate Pledge Arena;

Recognizing Metro’s Operators of the Month (January-February 2025)

They are hikers and campers. Motorcycle riders and barbeque enthusiasts. They collect art and guitar pedals! Those who ride with them say “"He always greets passengers and ensures they are in a safe position before he starts driving,” “You, kind Sir, brightened my day. A kind smile and a hello go such a long way,”" and "“Great driver, great smile. She made the whole trip excellent.”"

They are operators with *150 years *of professional driving experience!  The operators on your bus are as unique as you, and all of them love driving and giving back to their community.

King County Metro reduces ‘bus bunching’

Every week, hundreds of thousands of riders use King County Metro’s RapidRide bus service to get where they need to go. To further improve the consistency and frequency of RapidRide, Metro is expanding the use of *Advanced Service Management** (ASM).*

Advanced Service Management is a system of staff collaboration, street designs and features, and transit-specific technology that meet customer needs for faster, more reliable service on RapidRide lines, while improving the employee experience.

How does it work? The key change is moving from scheduled service (meaning buses aimed to arrive at set times on a clock) to more evenly spaced or headway-based services (meaning buses arrive a set number of minutes apart). Reliability means regularly spaced bus service (that is, less “bus bunching”), reducing gaps between buses and ensuring that any issues that could lead to delays are identified and resolved quickly.

Last year, we piloted the Advanced Service Management program on the RapidRide A and F lines. Riders experienced smoother and more reliable service. With the success of that pilot, Metro has now expanded Advanced Service Management to the RapidRide G Line as part of the spring service change [ https://kingcountymetro.blog/2025/03/17/more-king-county-metro-bus-service-starting-march-29/ ].
