*Climate Action Plan Workshop September 12
*You're invited to attend a Climate Action Plan Workshop [ https://www.kenmorewa.gov/Home/Components/Calendar/Event/1946/102?curm=9&cury=2023 ] on September 12 from 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm at City Hall. This hands-on workshop will provide community members the opportunity to weigh in on their priorities for upcoming climate action initiatives in Kenmore. The workshop is free and open to all ages (with kids activities provided). Don't miss your chance to be a part of Kenmore's planning to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and reach carbon neutrality by 2050. Learn more here. *Mid Sound Fisheries Enhancement Group Community Pint Night
*You're invited to join our friends at Mid Sound Fisheries Enhancement Group [ https://www.midsoundfisheries.org/about/us/ ] for a Community Pint Night at Cairn Brewing [ https://www.cairnbrewing.com/#FoodTrucksandEvents ] in Kenmore on Thursday, August 24, 2023 from 4 pm - 9 pm. This event is for EVERYONE: volunteers, donors, and friends of the organization, including those who are brand new and want to learn more. They want to (re)connect and share what they've been up to in our local watersheds. Cairn will donate 10% of ALL sales directly to Mid Sound. *Protecting Yourself From Wildfire Smoke
*Wildfire smoke this summer and fall could become a major issue. In past years, we have experienced very bad air quality due to wildfires in British Columbia, as well as our local area. This year, there have already been small fires on the Olympic Peninsula, with projections showing that this season will be extended. This means that we can expect to see fires in our region and that now is the time to prepare for the real possibility of heavy smoke in the air.
