Council Roundup: Lower speed limit for local streets discussed

Plus, information on two more budget strategic areas, proposed permit streamlining and proclamations

This week, the council discussed a proposed speed limit change that would reduce the limit on most local streets from 25 mph to 20 mph. Other topics of discussion included further strategic target areas of the city's proposed 2025-2026 Budget and the city's latest work to streamline permitting, which will include a future public hearing. The city also proclaimed October as Hindu American Awareness and Appreciation Month and Oct 26 as Arbor Day.
