Upcoming Closure at S Alaska St

Hello,

We are preparing for installation of the new dynamic messaging sign on East Marginal Way S. Over the next several weeks, we will do prep work that requires daytime lane and intersection closures at S Alaska St.

*As soon as Friday, Nov. 8*, we will conduct exploratory digging at E Marginal Way S and S Alaska St. To safely complete this work, crews will close S Alaska St at E Marginal Way S and the northbound curb lane on E Marginal Way S for 2-4 hours.

*As soon as Monday, Nov. 18,* we'll return to install the sign pole foundation. This work is expected to last 2 days and requires closing 2 lanes on E Marginal Way S at S Alaska St and closing S Alaska St at E Marginal Way S. We’ll shift traffic to maintain 2 northbound travel lanes on East Marginal Way S during this work.

*What to expect*


* S Alaska St will be closed at E Marginal Way S for up to 4 hours as soon as Friday, Nov. 8, between 9 AM and 3 PM
* Closure of S Alaska St at E Marginal Way S and 2 northbound lanes of E Marginal Way S at S Alaska St as soon as Monday, Nov. 18. The closure will be from 9 AM to 3 PM daily for up to 2 days.
* Construction noise from trucks and other equipment used for potholing and excavation
