*Upcoming Holiday Happenings in Kenmore!*


* *Winterfest Pop! Shop and Family Activities December 14 [ https://www.kenmorewa.gov/our-city/special-events/winterfest ]
*Winterfest is tomorrow from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Kenmore City Hall and the Hangar. This special event will feature festive games and activities for the family, a large POP! Shop Kenmore craft market, a mini igloo-building activity, gift wrapping station, musical performances, collection of food donations for local food access programs, and more. We hope to see you there! 
* *Argosy Christmas Ships at Log Boom Park December 18 [ https://www.argosycruises.com/christmas-ship-festival-schedule/ ]*
The Argosy Christmas Ships will be sailing into Log Boom Park on Wednesday December 18 from 8:40 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. The Spirit of Seattle Official Christmas Ship is decorated with hundreds of shimmery white lights and and the Cloud 9 Singers on board will perform to attendees gathered on shore.

*Kenmore Crosses the Finish Line on the 2024 Comprehensive Plan
*The Community Development Department and the Planning Commission have officially finalized the 2024 Comprehensive Plan [ https://www.kenmorewa.gov/government/departments/community-development/comprehensive-plan-update ]. This plan serves as a strategic roadmap for the future, outlining objectives, policies, and actions to enhance the quality of life for residents over the next decade. The Comprehensive Plan addresses various elements of community development, including land use, housing, transportation, public services, and environmental sustainability. It aims to create a cohesive vision that aligns with the community’s needs and aspirations while promoting sustainable growth. It is required to be updated every 10 years.

*Free Storm Debris Disposal Resumes for King County Residents*
In response to last month’s storm, King County is resuming free yard waste drop-off [ https://www.facebook.com/share/p/15NqYy6Hhc/ ] at select transfer stations during three upcoming weekends. King County residents can drop off tree limbs, and other woody debris for free at the Bow Lake, Enumclaw, Factoria, and Shoreline facilities during the weekends of December 14-15, December 21-22, and January 11-12.

"The free service is exclusively for wood debris from the recent storms. Stumps, logs and limbs no longer than six feet in length are allowed - no grass clippings, sod or soil will be accepted. These events are open to all King County residents. People visiting recycling and transfer stations are reminded to secure their loads."

The King County Office of Law Enforcement Oversight (OLEO) wants to hear from people who live, work, drive, or take public transportation in King County to learn about experiences and priorities with traffic safety and enforcement. The OLEO provides independent oversight of the King County Sheriff's Office and reviews and recommends policy changes.
