"Emerging Radiance" opening reception on Day of Remembrance

"Emerging Radiance: Farmhouse", an augmented reality interactive artwork that honors the stories of Japanese American farmers who lived in Bellevue between 1920 and World War II, will be on display at the Bellevue Library though February 2027. The City of Bellevue, in partnership with the King County Library System, is proud to host this installation.

An opening reception will be at the library 6-9 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 19, (the Day of Remembrance). Artists Michelle Kumata and Tani Ikeda will speak at the event. City Councilmember Dave Hamilton, KCLS Executive Director Heidi Daniles and other dignitaries will also speak. After opening remarks, guests can explore the interactive work, attend a 7:30 artist breakout session or watch the Emerging Radiance documentary.
