*Celebrate Día de los Muertos at the Hangar November 1*
On Saturday, November 1, Kenmore's DEIA [ https://links-2.govdelivery.com/CL0/https:%2F%2Fwww.kenmorewa.gov%2Fgovernment%2Fdepartments%2Fhuman-resources%2Fdiversity-equity-and-inclusion/1/01010192e97cbf76-13f36bb2-4619-421c-b8fb-7979742d5c38-000000/TGHpjzOhZOLgXzIq0y_xtAGQmLbQq0y8c-QVw3rpuac=377 ] Advisory Committee invites the community to a Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) Community Celebration [ https://www.kenmorewa.gov/our-city/special-events/dia-de-los-muertos ] at the Hangar from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Día de los Muertos is a traditional Mexican holiday that honors and celebrates the lives of deceased loved ones by creating ofrendas (altars) decorated with food, drinks, toys, and other meaningful items. The event will feature an ofrenda that community members can decorate, along with music, performances, sugar skull decorating and other arts and crafts, and a Mexican food truck, La Costeñita Cuisine. This free, family-friendly event is open to everyone!

*City Council Supports NPRSA Proposition No. 1*
At the October 20 meeting [ https://links-2.govdelivery.com/CL0/https:%2F%2Fkenmorewa.portal.civicclerk.com%2Fevent%2F791%2Ffiles%2Fagenda%2F2181/2/01010199f35c464d-6766a6ab-5ac9-4ea6-936d-04119b7241b8-000000/_-bfCacRNlgPwVVV3bDxCK-73WKLF6TU2pceYrmnAa8=427 ], the Kenmore City Council voted unanimously to adopt a resolution in support [ https://kenmorewa.nextrequest.com/documents/53358074 ] of Northshore Park and Recreation Service Area (NPRSA) Proposition No. 1 [ https://links-2.govdelivery.com/CL0/https:%2F%2Fnprsawa.org%2F2025-levyrenewal/1/01010199f35c464d-6766a6ab-5ac9-4ea6-936d-04119b7241b8-000000/139uPbTL0MPX8qQYX5Uol2hAPfaXlmCoUqMeNYGcfwQ=427 ], a replacement levy that funds repairs, maintenance, and operations at the Northshore Senior Center and the Health & Wellness and Adult Day Health Center in Bothell.

Proposition No. 1 is on the November general election ballot and would continue funding for facility improvements serving seniors and adults with disabilities throughout the Northshore area, including Kenmore residents.

In accordance with RCW 42.17A.555, the City Council held a public hearing prior to taking action, providing an opportunity for members of the public to share both supporting and opposing views.

*Local Artist Brings Climate Change to Light at Pioneer Square Art Walk*
Local Kenmore artist Sharon Gottula [ https://sharongottula.com/ ], who also serves as Marketing Director for the Arts of Kenmore, will be featured in Seattle’s Pioneer Square First Thursday Art Walk. Her new installation, The Extinction Chandelier, explores the impacts of climate change on monarch butterfly migration through a chandelier of sculpted cocoons and large-scale paintings. *"Last weekend was Kenmore's annual Jack Crawford Day volunteer event and it was a huge success. Over 40 community volunteers came out to participate, including Jack and Char Crawford’s daughter, Reesie. Thank you to everyone who helped clean, plant and restore Log Boom Park!
