*NOTICE OF PROPOSED RULE MAKING*

The Seattle Public Safety Civil Service Commission (“PSCSC”), acting under the authority of SMC 4.08.070, section A, proposes to amend the following Public Safety Civil Service Commission Rules of Practice and Procedure: 


* Rule 2.13 REVIEW AND RECONSIDERATION OF ACTIONS OR DECISIONS OF THE DIRECTOR
* Rule 8.07 ADMISSION TO EXAMINATION PENDING APPEAL
* Rule 9.09 PROMOTIONAL DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE
* Rule 9.15 MILITARY PERSONNEL AND PROMOTIONAL EXAMS
* Rule 9.20 PREFERENCE FOR MULTILINGUAL CANDIDATES

These amendments reflect the transfer of the civil service exam unit from the Seattle Department of Human Resources to the Civil Service Department, as required by Ordinance 127127 [ https://seattle.legistar.com/View.ashx?GUID=0C5A9E5E-E77E-401F-A5AA-9FFDD8DF33C9&ID=13634699&M=F&utm_medium=email&utm_source=govdelivery ]. The revisions also correct some minor typographical and formatting errors.

Interested persons are invited to submit public comment the following ways:


* By email to publicsafety@seattle.gov. Include “Public Comment” in the subject line.
* In person at the PSCSC meeting on April 18, 2025, at 10:00 a.m.; the meeting is located at the Seattle Municipal Tower in the PSCSC hearing room at 700 Fifth Avenue, Suite 1679, Seattle, Washington 98104.

 

Written comment must be received no later than 5:00 p.m., on Thursday, April 17, 2025. The Commission may take final rulemaking action at its meeting on April 18, 2025, at 10:00 a.m.
