City Manager update

Investing in Vancouver: Now and into the future

Over the past year, Vancouver residents have continued to invest in the services that keep our community strong. That investment shows up in ways that matter every day: safer neighborhoods, improved streets and parks, and services that support the most vulnerable in our community. Learn more about some of the key milestones shared at Vancouver's recent State of the City and take a closer look at how your property taxes are invested in
my latest update. (https://t.e2ma.net/click/4gfdcg/wqxjmrg/snk0is)

The latest from City Hall

Our Vancouver 20-year plan nears final steps

Thank you to the 100+ people who joined us at one of the community presentations on the
draft Comprehensive Plan and Zoning Code. (https://t.e2ma.net/click/4gfdcg/wqxjmrg/40m0is)

Built with
three years (https://t.e2ma.net/click/4gfdcg/wqxjmrg/ktn0is)
of community input and thousands of community ideas, the draft is the City's long-term plan, guiding housing, jobs, transportation, parks, and public services over the next 20 years.

Before the approval process begins
later this spring (https://t.e2ma.net/click/4gfdcg/wqxjmrg/0lo0is), Council will review the refined draft plan and zoning code at their
April 13 workshop (https://t.e2ma.net/click/4gfdcg/wqxjmrg/gep0is). You can attend the workshop to listen in or provide public testimony.

Bridge Shelter construction off the ground

Major momentum at Vancouver's future
Bridge Shelter (https://t.e2ma.net/click/4gfdcg/wqxjmrg/srr0is)
is underway. The first pre-engineered steel building components arrived last week, and the dormitory building is starting to take shape. Both buildings on the campus are expected to be up by May. We're on track to open this 120-bed shelter with supportive services by early winter, helping more of our unhoused neighbors move toward stability.

Be Ready Vancouver

Wildfires. Flooding. "The Big One". These are all risks for Vancouver. But preparing for emergencies doesn't have to be overwhelming, and you don't need to do everything at once. Visit
Be Ready Vancouver (https://t.e2ma.net/click/4gfdcg/wqxjmrg/oct0is)
to explore Vancouver's common and potential hazards and simple steps to prepare, stay safe, and recover.
