The City of Bellevue is looking for a professional, creative and strategic communicator ready to be part of a community-focused vision for sharing the exciting stories and developments of a growing city. This role supports communications for a number of programs and initiatives that solidify Bellevue as the place you want to be.

A key function this role supports is the city’s Community Development department, helping to keep the community informed and engaged on major planning, housing, economic development, neighborhoods, arts and environmental stewardship initiatives. The Public Information Officer (PIO) plans and administers public information initiatives and public relations programs to effectively represent the City of Bellevue to the media and the public. This role is assigned to a primary department, division or function (i.e. Community Development) but also serves as a strategic communications partner to other city departments and functions as needed. PIOs manage, develop, coordinate and implement the communication of information that is important to community members, visitors to Bellevue, employees and employers, news media, project partners and the city. This role gives you the opportunity to implement communication strategies, market Bellevue as a place where you want to be and advise program teams in messaging and communication approaches.
