Ride transit during Revive I-5 and Seattle’s action-packed summer

June is already flying by, and it's Ride Transit Month too! A big Seattle summer of events and construction is kicking off. From exciting FIFA Club World Cup™ [ https://www.seattle.gov/fifa-2025?utm_medium=email&utm_source=govdelivery ] games to WSDOT’s Revive I-5 construction [ https://wsdot.wa.gov/construction-planning/search-projects/i-5-yesler-way-northgate-vic-pavement-deck-joints-and-drainage?utm_medium=email&utm_source=govdelivery ], plus city street upgrades, [ https://www.seattle.gov/transportation/projects-and-programs/current-projects?utm_medium=email&utm_source=govdelivery ] getting around might feel tricky.

Don’t stress; skip the traffic and try transit, carpooling, biking, scooting, or walking to keep things moving smoothly. Whether you’re heading to work or catching an event, we’ve got your back. You can navigate the city, avoid headaches, and turn every trip into a little adventure.

Here's how we're making that easier:

In preparation for Revive I-5, new 24/7 bus lanes on Aurora Ave N [ https://www.seattle.gov/transportation/projects-and-programs/current-projects/aurora-ave-project?utm_medium=email&utm_source=govdelivery#othermobilityimprovements ] help ensure a reliable trip on the popular RapidRide E Line. That’s not all – explore different routes and discover new ways to get around:

Voter-approved Seattle Transit Measure funds 3,000+ bus trips each week in Seattle

Levy Logo - Locally Funded, Voter-Approved

You can count on more frequent, reliable bus service in the city thanks to the voter-approved Seattle Transit Measure [ https://www.seattle.gov/transportation/projects-and-programs/programs/transit-program/proposition-1?utm_medium=email&utm_source=govdelivery ]. It funds 3,000 more bus trips each week in the city, meaning more buses show up more often - day and night. This reduces wait times and makes transit a more dependable option. The measure also funds Transportation Access Programs [ https://www.seattle.gov/transportation/projects-and-programs/programs/transportation-access-programs?utm_medium=email&utm_source=govdelivery ] like free ORCA cards for low-income communities and opportunities for young people to become transit ambassadors in their community.

In addition, the Seattle Transportation Levy [ https://www.seattle.gov/transportation/about-us/funding/seattle-transportation-levy?utm_medium=email&utm_source=govdelivery ] passed by Seattle voters in 2024 funds a wide variety of projects helping you get to transit including stop improvements, better street crossings, new sidewalks, bike lanes, and safer streets for everyone.

Enjoy a bus, light rail, streetcar, or monorail ride during Ride Transit Month in June – or anytime throughout the year. Thank you to our Seattle voters and taxpayers for making these improvements possible!

Shape the future of the Graham neighborhood by taking a 10-minute survey

Sound Transit is building a new Link light rail station at S Graham St [ https://www.soundtransit.org/system-expansion/graham-street-station?utm_medium=email&utm_source=govdelivery ] and Martin Luther King, Jr. Way S by 2031. To get ready for the big change, the City of Seattle is working with the community to plan for the future of the nearby neighborhoods. Together with the Office of Planning and Community Development (OPCD), we are creating a Station Area Plan [ https://www.seattle.gov/opcd/station-area-planning?utm_medium=email&utm_source=govdelivery ] to guide how the area will look and function. The plan will focus on public spaces, housing, transportation, accessibility, and support for local businesses.

*If you live, work, shop, or spend time in the Graham neighborhood, please consider sharing your input:* *Take the Graham Station Area Planning Survey* [ https://survey.alchemer.com/s3/8345627/Graham-Station-Area-Planning-Survey?utm_medium=email&utm_source=govdelivery ]

This survey builds on the 2019 Graham Street: A Community-Driven Neighborhood Vision [ https://pugetsoundsage.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/PSS-GrahamStreetVision-1.pdf?utm_medium=email&utm_source=govdelivery ], which identified strategies to prevent displacement. We are asking for your input to deepen the vision, so the neighborhood builds on existing strengths.

Our work on the Sound Transit 3 Program continues as we prepare for additional light rail in Seattle [ https://www.seattle.gov/transportation/projects-and-programs/programs/light-rail?utm_medium=email&utm_source=govdelivery ] in the years to come. This includes the West Seattle Link Extension [ https://www.soundtransit.org/system-expansion/west-seattle-link-extension?utm_medium=email&utm_source=govdelivery ] and Ballard Link Extension [ https://www.soundtransit.org/system-expansion/ballard-link-extension?utm_medium=email&utm_source=govdelivery ] projects.
