If you haven't heard about it, Kent 101 is our fun and interactive 8-week civics course that deepens your understanding of local government and how it all works.
This program is perfect for high school students looking for career inspiration, college students who need more experience before joining the work force, working adults who want to have a stronger understanding about government work, or retirees looking to be more involved in their community.

Earlier this week, we celebrated Nancy Turner.
Nancy has been coordinating the Monday Night Supper at Kent Lutheran for 40 years! She is also turning 90 in a week. She has a huge heart and has shown her love for our community for so many years.
She told me that while she is retiring from the weekly supper, she has no plans to stop volunteering in other ways. Thank you, Nancy, for all you've done for so many in our community.

Recycle your Christmas tree this Saturday, January 4, from 9 a.m to 3 p.m, bring your tree to Service Club Ballfields (14608 SE 288th St) for *FREE* recycling.
Our Park Operations staff is partnering with local Boy Scouts from Scouting America to collect trees for those without neighborhood Scout coverage. Donations are welcome but not required.
Flocked trees, tinsel, and artificial trees won’t be accepted.
