*About the Role:*
The CM II entry-level position with the CM Unit is for a motivated candidate who is interested in joining a professional construction management team that is responsible for an increasing hundred-million-dollar construction portfolio as the Division expands its project delivery methods to meet the demands of current and future projects.

The ideal candidate will play a vital role in construction inspection under the mentorship of senior Inspectors and other CM professionals (and would be a great opportunity for a trade worker with a civil or structural background looking to transition into the construction management industry).

The function of the Civil/Structural Inspector (CM II) performs daily, in-person, contractor/construction oversight and field inspection on small (<$10k) to large (<$300M), high-and-low profile CIP projects with primary civil/structural discipline/trade scopes, under the direction and mentorship of higher-level (CM III) inspection and CM staff. The CM II function is primarily responsible for the daily in-field oversight and monitoring of contractor field activity, daily documentation of progress, construction activity, resources used, identifying, and communicating imminent construction issues and close collaboration and coordination of construction activities with O&M to avoid operational impacts.

As the onsite field representative, the ideal candidate for CM II is a quick learner as higher-level staff provide mentorship, practices a high level of integrity and emotional intelligence as the role calls for primarily working autonomously and represents the County, balances carrying out functions as an Inspector, independently while maintaining contact and communication with others that builds then leverages rapport. Model’s behavior reflective of conduct expected of County staff with job duties that involve autonomy and regular use of County resources, regardless of audience.

These two positions will support civil and structural discipline inspection assignments on standalone lump sum and construction work order contracts administered by WTD’s North and South Satellite’s Construction Office’s for Capital Improvement Program (CIP) projects at South and West Point Treatment Plants and other WTD offsite facilities.
