*Kenmore Deputy City Manager Stephanie Lucash Awarded National 2024 Leadership Trailblazer Award*
The City of Kenmore proudly announces that Deputy City Manager Stephanie Lucash has been recognized as the national 2024 Leadership Trailblazer Award winner. This prestigious honor was bestowed upon Lucash by the League of Women in Government [ https://www.leagueofwomeningovernment.org/2024/09/congratulations-to-the-2024-leadership-trailblazer-winner-stephanie-luchash/ ] (LWG) during the International City/County Management Association (ICMA) Annual Conference in Pittsburgh, PA, in September. The Leadership Trailblazer Award celebrates women who have made significant contributions to public service and demonstrated exemplary leadership in government.

Lucash has worked for the City of Kenmore since 2021, where she has been instrumental in spearheading key initiatives including the American Rescue Plan Act funding and COVID-19 response efforts, leading regional partnerships, building relationships with the local business community, and advocating for access to mental health services and affordable housing. Congratulations to Kenmore's own Deputy City Manager for this exciting national recognition! Read the press release [ https://lnks.gd/2/2xBvn7D ].

*Dia de los Muertos Community Celebration November 2*
On November 2, Kenmore's DEIA Advisory Committee is hosting a Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) Community Celebration [ https://www.kenmorewa.gov/government/departments/human-resources/diversity-equity-and-inclusion ] at the Hangar from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Not to be confused with Halloween, Día de los Muertos is a traditional Mexican holiday in which people connect with their deceased loved ones by setting up an altar, or "ofrenda", with the food, drinks, toys, and other items their loved ones enjoyed. The event will feature mariachi music, a Mexican food truck, arts and crafts for families including sugar skulls, papel picado, traditional skull face painting, and a community "ofrenda" that guests can decorate with memories of the loved ones they have lost. The event will end with a screening of the delightful Academy Award-winning Pixar film Coco, beginning at 1 p.m. This event is free to attend and open to all!

*King County Metro is launching the Future of Paratransit project to review the Access Transportation program — how it operates and helps riders get to their destinations — with the goal of shaping the service for 2027 and beyond.
