The City of Bellevue Parks & Community Services (PCS) has a new *Outdoor Recreation Intern* opportunity for Spring 2024.
This internship* *will work within the *T*eaching, *R*ecreation, *A*dventure, *C*ompetency, *K*nowledge, *S*tewardship outdoor recreation program (TRACKS). The mission of the TRACKS program is to encourage participation in outdoor activities; connect residents to nature and cultivate individual and community stewardship.
The *Outdoor Recreation Intern* will assist in the development, implementation, and facilitation of TRACKS community recreation based outdoor activities. Interns will gain valuable hands-on experiences and insight into how outdoor community recreation activities and programming can include and support all who choose to participate.
*Gain experience in:*
* A variety of hiking programs with options for youth, families, adults, and older adults.
* Elementary school-based mountain biking and hiking programs, and
* Preparation for summer camps
This is a paid internship position. A successful candidate will have an opportunity to work during the summer as part of the outdoor day camp program at the conclusion of their internship. This position will work at outdoor locations and Bellevue City Hall.
* Internship begins in March-June 2024.
* The maximum length of the internship is six (6) months
* Work Hours: up to 20 hours per week. If part of a specific school internship program or during school breaks, you are eligible for more than 20hours/week.
