I'm so thrilled to share that Kent’s Economic Development team was nominated for the *Community Partner of the Year Award* by the Center for Advanced Manufacturing Puget Sound (CAMPS). This prestigious recognition highlights the team's dedication to fostering a thriving manufacturing ecosystem in our region.

The nomination reflects the City’s meaningful partnership with CAMPS, which has spanned more than a decade. It also underscores the team's commitment to supporting the innovative manufacturing sector in Kent and beyond.

The team was joined at the awards banquet by Council President Satwinder Kaur and Councilmember Bill Boyce.

We are proud of the Economic Development team for this well-deserved acknowledgment and their ongoing efforts to strengthen our local economy. Congratulations!

Impaired Driving Awareness

________________________________________________________________________

impared driving awareness month

December is National Impaired Driving Prevention Month. Impaired driving is a serious threat to public safety—and often, without outside intervention, this behavior repeats.

The DUI Court program at the Kent Municipal Court connects offenders with with substance use and mental health disorders to recovery support services.

It's a specialized, therapeutic court program dedicated to changing the behavior of high-risk DUI offenders through intensive treatment and supervision.

The KMC DUI Court program consists of five phases designed to keep the participant alcohol and drug-free in order to rehabilitate and reduce the likelihood of recidivism.

We connect them with the treatment and resources they need so they can be healthy, thriving members of our community. Learn more at *bit.ly/4abOSbC [ https://bit.ly/4abOSbC?utm_medium=email&utm_source=govdelivery ].*
