Metro Transit has two amazing opportunities for Transit Superintendents with the Vehicle Maintenance division. The Vehicle Maintenance division is responsible for supporting the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of Metro's fleet of approximately 1450 buses and the supporting non-revenue fleet. It also supports and leads Capital Projects that utilize the skilled labor groups, handles bus acceptance and preparation for service of new fleets, supervises and directs all phases of major component and internal parts rebuild - to include make versus buy decisions, fabrication of parts, adherence to schedule, cost effectiveness, process improvement activities, as well as supervising specialized repair functions that support the daily operation of Metro’s fleet. 

Vehicle Maintenance Division 
Metro Transit's Vehicle Maintenance division takes pride in meeting our customers' expectations for safe, dependable, clean, and environmentally sound vehicles. Maintenance of Metro's bus fleet takes place at seven bus bases and at our central Component Supply Center (CSC) where specialized work is done. The current majority of Metro's buses are hybrids, followed by diesel, electric trolley, and  battery-electric buses. Metro has long been an innovator in green vehicle technology and plans to transition to battery-electric buses as we move toward our goal of a zero-emission fleet. Our division is committed to working in a timely, cost effective, and environmentally sensitive manner, and values teamwork, communication, diversity, and social justice. 

This job posting will be used to fill two (2) career service positions. The career service position is open to all King County employees and the general public. 

This recruitment may also be used to create a list of qualified candidates for current and future career service openings. The list is valid up to twelve months, at the discretion of the hiring authority.
