*Kenmore Breaks Ground on New Public Works Operations Center Site
*On September 12, the City of Kenmore celebrated the official start of site preparation and construction for its new Public Works Operations Center (PWOC). Located on a 2.8-acre site near NE 202nd Street and 66th Avenue NE (just south of Kenmore Middle School), the PWOC will provide modern, consolidated facilities designed to better support the community’s growing infrastructure needs. Initial site work will begin this month, and a second contract for the building itself will go out to bid later this fall. Construction of the new center is expected to be complete in spring 2027. *Explore Careers at Kenmore’s Green Jobs & Networking Fair*
"Are you a student or new job entrant looking to learn about green careers?" Join the City of Kenmore for the upcoming Green Jobs & Networking Fair [ https://www.kenmorewa.gov/government/departments/public-works/environmental-services/climate-action-plan ] on October 1 from 3 p.m. - 6 p.m. at Kenmore City Hall! Network with representatives from a variety of organizations and college programs such as King County Metro, University of Washington, Mid Sound Fisheries, Orca Network, Sound Transit, get a free professional headshot, and learn about exciting career opportunities in this field. This event is free and open to all. *Join CATS: Community Action Training School for Watershed Health
*Join Mid Sound Fisheries Enhancement Group this fall for Community Action Training School (CATS [ https://www.midsoundfisheries.org/cats/ ]), a free program that empowers residents to take action for watershed health and salmon recovery. Through virtual classes, field excursions, and hands-on projects, participants will learn from local experts, Tribal leaders, and community organizations about the scientific, cultural, and political issues impacting salmon and their habitats. No prior experience is needed—just a passion for making a difference in your watershed. *Pop! Shop Market Brings Local Flavor to Kenmore Oktoberfest 
*Kenmore Oktoberfest had an amazing first weekend, thanks to everyone who came out to volunteer, run, walk, cheer, fly balsa wood gliders, hear the Inglemoor High School band perform, and more! The festivities continue this weekend with beer gardens, lively music, games, the wiener dog races at The Lodge at St. Edward Park, and many other activities.
