*City Council Sets Goals and Discusses Kenmore's Financial Future
*Last weekend, the Kenmore City Council held a two-day goal setting and planning retreat. Retreat topics included an update on the city’s financial forecast, the Love Where You Live Project, and other various topics such as economic development, Lakepointe, and possible future funding strategies. At the end of the retreat, the Council used a goal-prioritizing process to identify their top priorities for 2025 and 2026. These will be finalized and adopted at a future council meeting. Discussions on Kenmore's financial future will continue this Monday, May 6 [ https://www.kenmorewa.gov/Home/Components/Calendar/Event/2352/102?curm=5&cury=2024 ] at a study session scheduled during the city council meeting. The study session agenda includes a presentation and discussion of recommendations from the Financial Sustainability Task Force and a presentation and discussion of preliminary ballot measure options, including timelines and future funding needs such as public safety, human services, and parks.
