Prepare for High Winds in Seattle

**What's Happening?**

The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for our area. We’re expecting strong south winds blowing at 15 to 25 mph, with gusts that could reach up to 45 mph. The Wind Advisory is in effect until 4 AM on Wednesday.

**What Should You Do?**

Safety is our top priority, and there are a few things you can do to keep yourself and others safe:


* **Secure Outdoor Items**: We are asking permit holders to secure their job sites, sidewalk cafes, or other outdoor operations during off hours. Make sure to tie down or bring inside anything that the wind could blow away.
* **Drive Carefully**: If you’re on the road, be extra cautious. Strong winds can make driving tricky, especially if you’re in a tall vehicle like an SUV or truck. Keep both hands on the wheel and watch out for other drivers.
* **Watch for Falling Debris**: Be on the lookout for tree branches that might break and fall. If you see any downed power lines, stay away and call 9-1-1 immediately.
