Dujie Tahat was inaugurated Tuesday [ https://youtu.be/nEHjnYmQp1s?feature=shared&utm_medium=email&utm_source=govdelivery ] as the city’s fifth Seattle Civic Poet, and spoke at the first ever ceremony of its kind hosted in city hall. Three-time James Beard Award semi-finalist and proud owner of Musang and Kilig restaurants, Chef Melissa Miranda [ https://youtu.be/oEC_peb7fOQ?feature=shared&utm_medium=email&utm_source=govdelivery ] is passionate about promoting Filipino heritage in a multitude of ways, and she’s not alone! Pioneer Square underwent improvements [ https://youtu.be/upWaXs9sfEM?feature=shared&utm_medium=email&utm_source=govdelivery ] that make it more pedestrian friendly and better connect the neighborhood to the new waterfront so residents and visitors alike can get around more safely. The changes also come just in time for the FIFA Club Team World Cup this summer and FIFA World Cup in 2026.

She said she loves the way fabric creations brings comfort and joy to everyday spaces. "I hope to see them in office buildings, lobbies, private homes, to make people's life happier."

Organized workers found a home at Seattle’s Labor Temple for many years in the mid-1900s. Rebranded as the Labour Temple, the building now houses a coffee shop, salon, co-working facilities, and gallery spaces, but has been carefully renovated [ https://youtu.be/9p_lZiH74dU?feature=shared&utm_medium=email&utm_source=govdelivery ] to reflect its art deco beginnings. ⁠
