SDOT’s Transportation Equity Workgroup (TEW) is recruiting workgroup members for the 2025-2027 term. The TEW is a community workgroup working towards the goal of an equitable, safe, and affordable transportation system in Seattle. This is a unique opportunity for community to work with SDOT and other key decision makers to support communities historically and currently underinvested in by government.
You can learn more on SDOT’s latest blog post [ https://sdotblog.seattle.gov/2024/10/16/apply-for-transportation-equity-workgroup-25-27/?utm_medium=email&utm_source=govdelivery ]. Applicants must submit both an application [ https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/HFPMCTB?utm_medium=email&utm_source=govdelivery ] and a letter of support [ https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/H32P378?utm_medium=email&utm_source=govdelivery ] from their affiliated organization by *Friday, November 8, 2024 at 6:00 PM PST*.
Please consider sharing with your team and networks! The Transportation Equity program staff are holding virtual office hours, and you can drop in if you have specific questions (RSVP here [ https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/DDNVP66?utm_medium=email&utm_source=govdelivery ]). The next (and final) drop-in is this Monday, 10/28 from 5 – 6:30 pm.
Have You Taken a Lime Scooter to Your FREE Transit Ride?
From September to December 15, Bike and Scoot to Transit makes door-to-door public transit a reality in Seattle! When you use a Lime scooter, bike, or glider (seated scooters) to reach eligible Link light rail stations, you can* earn credits for a round-trip transit ticket* on Link light rail, King County Metro buses, the Seattle Streetcar, Sound Transit buses, or select regional bus services. Connect your Lime account to the Transit GO app and take a bike or scooter to ride one of our eligible stations - Beacon Hill, Capitol Hill, Chinatown-International District, Columbia City, Mt. Baker, Northgate, Othello, Pioneer Square, Rainier Beach, Roosevelt, SODO, Stadium, U-District, and University of Washington.
This program is for intermittent or non-transit riders "without" unlimited ORCA cards and will run until December 15, 2024, or while promotional funds are available.
*Remember! *Credits expire 24 hours after you end your Lime trip at an eligible Link station. For more information and a complete list of participating stations, visit: *https://kingcounty.gov/en/dept/metro/promo/bike-scoot* [ https://kingcounty.gov/en/dept/metro/promo/bike-scoot?utm_medium=email&utm_source=govdelivery ]
*Need help paying for Lime?* It’s easy to qualify for Lime Access, which provides heavily discounted rides. If you are currently enrolled in a government subsidy or reduced fare program, you’re eligible! Apply here [ https://services.sheerid.com/verify/6390e2e26b60617208902b2f/?layout=landing&utm_medium=email&utm_source=govdelivery ]!
