*For the Love of Kenmore Event Celebrates Community Volunteers
*On February 11, the City hosted the For the Love of Kenmore Volunteer Celebration event to thank the incredible volunteers who generously give their time, talent, and energy to the community. Guests included general City volunteers, members of City boards and commissions, and community members who shared Community Love Notes [ https://www.kenmorewa.gov/our-city/love-notes ] throughout the last year. The evening included valentine activities, sweet treats, and remarks from City Manager Teri Killgore and Deputy Mayor Valerie Sasson highlighting the meaningful impacts made by Kenmore volunteers. "Thank you to many community volunteers who are the heart of Kenmore!"

*Love at First Click: eCheck Launches for Permit Payments*
The City of Kenmore is excited to share a new, more convenient way to pay permit fees online. Customers applying for permits can use the new eCheck feature on mybuildingpermit.com [ https://mybuildingpermit.com/ ] for just $0.50 per transaction. This allows customers to avoid the 3% credit card fee and skip a trip to City Hall when paying by check.

*NUHSA Honors Those Who Serve with Heart
*The North Urban Human Services Alliance [ https://nuhsa.org/2025-nuhsa-human-services-awards-winners-and-select-nominees/ ] (NUHSA) recently recognized Kenmore-based nonprofit Manos Unidas [ https://www.manosunidasinternational.org/ ] as the 2025 Outstanding Human Services Program for its impactful home-based services supporting families with children ages 0–5 who have disabilities or suspected developmental delays. Lake City Partners case manager Matt Keenan was also honored as a nominee for the Human Services Champion Award. Mayor Herbig, Councilmember Culver, and Planning Commission Chair Banaszynski attended the event to support this important work happening in the community.

*Wallace Swamp Creek Park, "Be My Valentine!"*
Celebrate Valentine’s Day by showing some love for our parks. Join Sno-King Watershed Council for habitat restoration at Wallace Swamp Creek Park [ https://swampcreekwatershed.org/event/2-14-swamp-creek-habitat-restoration-project-work-party-wallace-swamp-creek-park/ ] on Saturday, February 14, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Families and volunteers of all ages are welcome—please meet in the parking lot, come when you can, and stay as long as you are able. Bring a water bottle, work gloves, and a favorite tool if you have one.
