Kent is Building a Future with Housing Options for Everyone!



The City has released the first phase of proposed updates to the Kent City Code to fulfill new state requirements for housing regulations. There’s still time for you to provide input! Check out the draft ordinance below and let us know what you think!

*_How to Provide Feedback_*

 

*Written*: Send your comments to futurekent@kentwa.gov or send a letter to Kristen Holdsworth, ECD Long Range Planning Manager, 220 Fourth Avenue South, Kent, WA 98032. The deadline to provide written feedback is 4 pm on *Monday, June 9, 2025*.

*Public Hearing*: The Land Use and Planning Board will hold a public hearing on Draft Ordinance on June 9, 2025 at  at  City Hall Council Chambers (220 Fourth Avenue South, Kent). Testimony during the meeting must be provided in person or in writing. Written public testimony may be submitted in advance of the meeting by regular U.S. Mail to Kristen Holdsworth, ECD Long Range Planning Manager, 220 Fourth Avenue South, Kent, WA 98032, or by electronic mail to futurekent@kentwa.gov. Any advanced written testimony must be received no later than 4 p.m. on June 9th, 2025, in order to be considered.

The meeting agenda and materials will be posted the Friday before the meeting:
