*Community Bulletin: SR 520 Expansion Joint Noise Update*

The City of Medina has been working with WSDOT and the legislature on ways to reduce the noise coming from the expansion joints on SR 520.  This has been an ongoing issue for Medina since the opening of the new bridge in 2016.  Medina hired Sound View Strategies to assist with resolving the noise issue.  Progress has been made as Legislature provided funding for a study, conducted by the University of Washington, to look at possible solutions.  UW completed the study and posted a report which is located at the City of Medina website at _https://www.medina-wa.gov/community/page/sr-520-noise-update [ https://url.usb.m.mimecastprotect.com/s/Sj0wCg7Wn0uPN4phNf1T4VOcg?domain=medina-wa.gov ]_.  Medina and Sound View are working with state legislators to provide funding for implementation of the recommendations from the UW study during the current State Legislative Session.  The City of Medina will provide any relevant updates to the community as they come available.
